When she began her education in 1969, Gail Weingast attended Jackson College, Tufts University, in Medford, Massachusetts, where she worked to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. It was at some point soon after that she apparently decided on a medical career, because she soon attended the Boston University School of Medicine and officially became Gail Weingast MD in 1976.
These days, Dr. Gail Weingast is considered one of the top radiology specialists in the country. She has been at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut for more than 20 years. Currently, she serves as the Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging, where she has been able to work hard and guide her department to a pre-eminent status among the best medical facilities in the country.
It may be her nearly four decades of education and experience that has given her the edge. Before she landed at Backus Hospital more than 20 years ago, she had considerable experience practicing in hospitals in Colorado and New York, and that came after internships, residency programs and fellowships in pediatrics, radiology and ultrasound and a post-graduate program for radiology, as well.
